Old routes work again
An old-style URL such as /umbraco#/content/content/edit/1234 now redirects to the correct edit URL, and the same goes for media.
Open source Umbraco package
Crumpled Nostalgid surfaces the integer node ID of every content and media item in the Umbraco backoffice, and redirects the old integer-ID edit URLs to the current ones.
After Umbraco 13 the integer node ID was hidden in favour of the GUID key, and edit URLs now carry the GUID. The integer is still there in the database and in a node's path, and it is far easier to remember, type and share.
That matters for support and maintenance work: tracking down a 500 error, an out-of-sync Umbraco Cloud environment, or every place an old address was used. Nostalgid gives the ID back.
It brings back the old integer-ID routes, and adds a view that shows the ID on every item.
An old-style URL such as /umbraco#/content/content/edit/1234 now redirects to the correct edit URL, and the same goes for media.
A new workspace view on every content and media item surfaces the underlying integer ID.
Copy the ID in one click, to save those seconds.
A tooorangey setting, when set to true, renders the node ID in orange.
Add the package to an Umbraco 17 or later site with dotnet add package Crumpled.Nostalgid.
The new workspace view shows the item's integer ID, ready to copy with a click.
Old-style integer-ID edit URLs now redirect to the right item.
