Know about problems where your team already is

This package adds Slack as a notification method for Umbraco Health Checks, so the result of each scheduled check lands in the channel your team already watches.

It works well alongside Umbraco Cloud Health Checks, to warn you before a site runs out of disk space.

What it does

It plugs into Umbraco's own health check notifications, so there is nothing new to learn.

Posts to a Slack channel

Health check results are posted to the channel you choose, under a username you set.

Configured in appsettings.json

Add the slack notification method alongside Umbraco's other health check notification settings, with your bot token and channel.

Choose the detail

A verbosity setting controls how much is posted, for example Detailed.

A version for each Umbraco

Version 5 is for Umbraco 17. Version 4 covers Umbraco 10 to 16, and earlier versions cover Umbraco 7, 8 and 9.

Get started in three steps

  1. Create a Slack app

Add the chat:write.customize bot token scope, plus chat:write.public if you post to several channels, then copy the Bot User OAuth Token.

  2. Install

Add the package with dotnet add package Our.Umbraco.HealthCheckSlackNotificationMethod.

  3. Configure

Add the slack method to the health check notification settings in appsettings.json, with your bot token, channel and username.
