Style attributes
Every style attribute is removed from pasted HTML, not just the empty ones.
Open source Umbraco package
TipTopTipTap is a Rich Text Editor (TipTap) extension for Umbraco that cleans up the debris Word and Office paste leaves behind, so pasted content is clean instead of carrying over the source application's inline formatting.
Pasting from Word, a browser or another editor brings inline styles, empty class attributes and meaningless span wrappers with it. TipTopTipTap removes them as the content arrives, so only your site's own CSS controls how content looks.
It builds on the @intevation/tiptap-extension-office-paste npm package, which already handles mso-* styles and list cleanup.
One extension, Office Paste Cleanup, does two jobs: before the paste is parsed, and after it lands.
Every style attribute is removed from pasted HTML, not just the empty ones.
Empty class attributes left behind by Word and Office are removed.
After the paste lands, span marks with no meaningful attributes are removed, so saved markup is not cluttered with invisible wrappers.
Runs straight after the office-paste package's own cleanup, so the two work together rather than duplicating effort.
Add the package with dotnet add package Umbraco.Community.TipTopTipTap. No configuration is required.
Go to Settings → Data Types and open or create a Rich Text Editor data type.
Tick Office Paste Cleanup in the Available extensions list and save. Content pasted into that editor is now cleaned automatically.
